SASSA Direct Payment Method is the preferred method for paying your Sassa grant. The payment method will only apply to the person who was approved for the grant, so if you are splitting your grant with someone else, this option won’t work for you.
Sassa Payments is a way to make your payments with ease. You get a variety of ways to access your SASSA grants using the same channels, whether it’s by bank transfer or debit order at any Standard Bank branch or ATM, by phone banking or internet banking, or even an app.
Sassa Direct is one of these payment methods and you can use Sassa Direct on its own or combined with other cashless payment options like Visa PayLock and Mastercard PayPass. It works for R1 000 grants too.
And the best part – there’s no need to have an ID document when you go to collect your grant monthly payouts from your closest Standard Bank branch.
Shoprite Group
Shoprite Group has made life easier for Sassa beneficiaries. You can now opt to fetch your South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) payments at any of the 1 286 supermarkets across South Africa, which includes Checkers, USave, OK and Shoprite stores in order to make life easier for you. This is not a new cashless system and it will remain TIO payable at all times.
Checkers, PicknPay & Boxer Stores
SASSA grant payments can now be made at various Checkers, PicknPay and Boxer stores around the country. You can access your grant by visiting a Checkers, Boxer or PicknPay store.
CashSend Services
CashSend is an alternative way to receive your R350 grant. If you don’t have a bank account, or BankFolio, this is the easiest way to go about it. With CashSend, beneficiaries use their ID numbers and phone numbers to access their grant money.
Bank account
If you want to withdraw your R350 grant, it is highly recommended that you choose this method. SASSA says that after you submit your application, you will provide your banking details. You then have to contact SASSA regarding the account number and branch where the payment would be deposited into. This means that you will be able to withdraw the said amount at any ATM.
